Research organized in this institute covers a wide variety of disciplines in the humanities and is strongly oriented to cultural and historical fields of research. For the CHICAM project the Research Institute co-operates with the Institute of Media and Re/Presentation.
The Institute of Media and Re/Presentation integrates the study of contemporary media (film, TV, new media) with a broader, often historical, understanding of earlier forms of human expression to produce new insights into the relationship between media, culture and society. The focus is very much on media comparison and on interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives.
The work in the CHICAM media club was done in co-operation with Mira Media (www.miramedia.nl), a Dutch organisation focusing on media and minorities.
