The interdisciplinary Centre for Research in International Migration and Ethnic Relations was established in 1983. It has developed into Sweden’s leading centre of excellence with regard to research into migration and ethnicity. Its research focus covers a broad range of problems directly or indirectly related to migration, multiculturalism, integration, ethnicity and related topics. It is partly funded by Stockholm University but a main source of funding is external. Recently the centre won a six year programme support funding from the Swedish Council for Social Research in stiff competition with ten other qualified proposals.

Role:

CEIFO’s role in the CHICAM network is as a partner with special focus on the migration related issues.
