CENSIS was founded as a social study and research institute in 1964 and became a legally recognised Foundation in 1973. CENSIS runs numerous research and policy implementation projects in a wide variety of socio-economic and socio-political fields. One field which has received special attention in the last decade is immigration and interculturalism. CENSIS research programmes are essentially practical in nature, with many services aimed in particular at institutions.
